Chess is somewhat playful, yet sarcastic. He enjoys teasing [Ari Jin](https://anilist.co/character/135079/Ari-Jin) and occasionally makes fun of how much she cares about her appearance. On the bright side, he is a very honest person, and cares about people. He is shown to have a mature side when helping [Suha](https://anilist.co/character/135081/Suha-Woo) through her emotional times and isn't afraid to cede himself to protect the girls when they are in danger. He secretly helps the girls collect Hopeful Energy in opposition of everyone from Flowering Kingdom.

Ari gives Chess the nickname Tubby when he's in his hamster form.
