Lai Lan

A beautiful and popular girl that attends Hak Lung and Kurumi’s school. She appears to be jealous of Kurumi for some reason. Her name in Cantonese means “beautiful orchid.” ~!Lai Lan is actually Hak Lung’s fiancée. Knowing that Hak Lung loved Kurumi, and not her, made her hungry for revenge. She tried assassinating Hak Lung, going so far as to beg the leader of the White Tiger Organization for help. In doing this, she ended up becoming their property and was sold into becoming a prostitute. Hak Lung eventually saves her from this lifestyle, but despite this, she still resented Kurumi and only wanted Hak Lung’s love. She deducts that the only way to hurt Hak Lung is to take away Kurumi’s virginity. She concocts a plan to trick Kurumi into thinking that the two of them had become best friends, and then repeatedly sent boys, whom she rewarded by having sex with them, to try and rape Kurumi. They almost succeeded, but Hak Lung manageed to stop them, knowing full well that it was Lai Lan pulling the strings. Hak Lung proceeded to kill Lai Lan in front of Kurumi. Up until her last breath, Lai Lan continued to trick Kurumi, saying kind and sympathetic things to convince Kurumi that she truly cared for her and was innocent. This caused Kurumi to hate and fear Hak Lung, thinking of him only as the man who murdered her one true best friend.!~
