Shimako is the eldest daughter of the Kai family, a Samurai family which is strict about tradition. She is usually calm and mild-mannered. At Yamayuri, Shimako becomes Yui's best friend, with them always go to and from school together. But sometimes she can act more like a subordinate to gain Yui's respect, rather than a close friend.
