On the brink of losing a war against the demons, humanity prayed to their goddess for salvation. Hearing their cries and prayers, she finally appeared before them, and granted a young girl the strength to bring salvation to mankind, the strength of a hero. Before the girl and her comrades could defeat the Demon King they engaged in a life or death battle with a different powerful demon. The girl's comrades were left scarred and terror-stricken. Having witnessed the young girl's strength they abandoned her, as they saw her not as a hero but as a monster. After her tears ran dry, the young girl came to a conclusion - her purpose as a hero wasn't to save humanity but to kill demons.
For some reason the young girl could not seem to remember anything after that, or at all for that matter. But she remembered one thing; her purpose, twisted: to be a hero, which meant killing every last demon. So she marched on, continuing to kill demons. Gaining new companions and losing them would not alter her path. Stumbling into the city of Arte ruled by the Star Church; with an uncertain future and no memories of her past, she continued moving forward on her quest to exterminate the demons.
