As a child Sven held a strong interest in space and wanted to become an Astronomer, but after his parents are killed in a terrorist bombing at a space museum he's taken in by a relative that later signs him away to the military. There Sven is subjected to anti-Coordinator conditioning and harsh military training run by Blue Cosmos. During his training Sven develops a detached and emotionless view of his actions, showing no objections when told to kill civilians.

~!During his battle with the Stargazer Gundam, Selene McGriff orders those back at the DSSD base to fire the propulsion beam to protect them from Sven. The pair are launched deep into space where Sven begins to show humanity, bonding with her under the extreme circumstances. Extended material for the universe shows that upon returning to Earth, Sven joins the DSSD.!~
