One of Min-Seong's disciples alongside [Kim Shin](https://anilist.co/character/334237/Shin-Kim), [Pi Woo-Jin](https://anilist.co/character/334229/WooJin-Pi) and [Seo Jin-Tae](https://anilist.co/character/334228/JinTae-Seo), Dae-Geon's story is one of self-sacrifice. Alongside Woo-Jin, he once opposed Hasung's takeover on the Hoeam region, until an incident in which Dae-Geon and Woo-Jin directly assaulted the cornerstone of Hasung at the time and Dae-Geon confronted Deok-Su by himself. After that, Dae-Geon seemingly betrayed those of Hoeam and joined the Hasung group, but in truth, he did so in a pact with Deok-Su: In exchange of his fealty, they would leave his friends alone and let them live well. For a long time, Dae-Geon served the group dutifully, although jaded and a cynic with low self-worth, but eventually, upon meeting Shin and becoming his first serious opponent, he starts to undergo a change of heart.
