A character featured in _Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School_. During his time in Class 77-B at Hope's Peak Academy. He is a member of the Future Foundation and is the Branch Office 10 Director. His responsibility as the director is assistance in reviving education and culture. He, along with the other Future Foundation Directors, is forced to participate in the Final Killing Game.

Ryota is a very timid, insecure, and rather asocial person. He holds anime in very high regard and is extremely passionate about it, considering it his savior during his harsh childhood. His life goal is to give others a similar sense of hope through his anime. However, this led him to shut himself in his room to work, frequently neglecting to eat or sleep as he wanted to spend all his time creating anime. Ryota suffers from extreme anxiety, worrying constantly, and lacks self-confidence, seeing himself as a burden who fails to protect everyone. He has a weak stomach and is easily startled. Though he's very hard on himself, he does his best when given a mission.
